What is Functional Neurology?

At Functional Endocrinology of Ohio, we use in-office evaluations and leading-edge lab testing to thoroughly assess the function of the brain and nervous system, immune system, and other facets of overall health. By understanding how brain function impacts other systems in the body we can better comprehend each individual’s unique condition and better assist in their care. We then construct a comprehensive plan utilizing specific sets of exercises, without the use of drugs or surgery, to stimulate various brain regions and improve their performance. We assess gait, balance, movement, inner ear function, and eye movements, as these are windows into the function and integration of various components of the nervous system. We use this information to determine how best to help reduce your symptoms and improve your function. These exercises differ depending on each individual's unique needs. Treatments may include vestibular (balance) exercises, auditory or visual stimulus, Chiropractic adjustments, or other forms of sensory stimulus. By doing this, over time, our therapies promote “neuroplasticity”, which causes brain regions and neuronal pathways to function more efficiently.

Our doctors are all extensively trained in functional neurology and Dr. David Hardy holds a diplomate certification.
